What is a Safe Parking Lot?

A safe parking lot is a designated parking lot where people experiencing homelessness can park their cars overnight safely and legally, and helps reduce the risk of crime and violence. Our Safe Parking Lot has a locked gate to prevent unauthorized access and plenty of safety lights. The address is only shared to those in need of this resource.

The Berks County Safe Parking Lot offer others amenities, such as restrooms, hygiene products, and a phone charging station. In addition to these physical resources, people living in their cars can access case management and connection to resources at BCEH.
